P-Shot®

The P-Shot® is an in-office procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood to support erectile tissue, blood flow, and nerve health. Men use it for erectile concerns and Peyronie's disease, often alongside other therapies.

What the P-Shot® is

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, has long been used in sports medicine to support healing in tendons, ligaments, and joints. The same approach is now applied to sexual health. The P-Shot® (also called the Priapus Shot) uses PRP prepared from your own blood to support the tissue, blood vessels, and nerves involved in erections.

Who it may help

  • Erectile concerns, from occasional loss of firmness to more persistent erectile dysfunction
  • Peyronie's disease: scar tissue that causes curvature, and sometimes pain, during erections
  • Men who want to improve sexual confidence and function without relying only on medication

How it works

A small amount of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the growth-factor-rich plasma. After numbing, the PRP is placed where it is needed. The growth factors are thought to support regeneration of tissue, blood vessels, and nerves at and near the treatment site.

The procedure takes about an hour in total, and most men are up and active the same day. Because PRP comes from your own body, the risk of reactions is low.

After the procedure, a medical-grade vacuum device is often used for a short period. Bringing healthy blood flow to the tissue helps support the results.

Combination therapy

The P-Shot® is often combined with GAINSWave® acoustic wave therapy for erectile concerns and Peyronie's disease. We often pair the P-Shot® with a single GAINSWave® session to support the results. Together they're used to support circulation and tissue health. Hormone therapy may also be part of the plan when testosterone is a factor.

How it fits your care at AgeWell

Erectile changes can be an early signal of something broader, including blood flow, metabolic health, blood pressure, or hormones. That is why we look at the whole picture. Treating what contributes to erectile concerns is as important as treating the symptom.

Common questions

Does the P-Shot® hurt?

The area is numbed first, and nitrous oxide is available. Our founder, Dr. Garza, is a board-certified anesthesiologist, and comfort is built into how we do every procedure.

Can it help Peyronie's disease?

The P-Shot®, often with GAINSWave®, is used to support tissue health in Peyronie’s disease. Your provider will talk through what’s realistic for you.

Do I still need to look at my overall health?

Yes. Erectile concerns are often connected to blood flow, metabolic health, and hormones. Your plan addresses those contributors, not just the symptom.
