V-Tone

V-Tone by InMode is an in-office treatment that uses electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen the pelvic floor. It's FDA-cleared to strengthen weak pelvic floor muscles to treat stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence in women.

What V-Tone is

V-Tone by InMode uses intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to work the muscles of the pelvic floor directly. It provides neuromuscular re-education: stronger muscles, and a better ability to contract them when you choose to. V-Tone is FDA-cleared to strengthen weak pelvic floor muscles to treat stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence in women.

Many women notice a loss of strength in the muscles that support the bladder, vagina, and rectum, whether after pregnancy and delivery or simply with age. Kegel exercises, medication, pelvic floor physical therapy, and surgery have long been the usual options. V-Tone adds a non-surgical one.

Who it may help

  • Stress urinary incontinence: leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise
  • A weak pelvic floor, including a feeling of pelvic heaviness
  • Pelvic floor weakness after childbirth, from about six months postpartum
  • Painful intercourse
  • Women who want a stronger pelvic floor for comfort and sexual function

How it works

During a session, the device does the muscle work while you rest, producing strong, complete contractions. As the muscles get stronger, many women notice changes in their symptoms and confidence.

The muscles V-Tone strengthens are the same ones involved in orgasm and vaginal tone, so a stronger pelvic floor may also support comfort and control during intimacy.

After childbirth

Delivery stretches the pelvis in many ways. Kegels are effective, but they can take a long time to make a difference. Once you are about six months postpartum, a V-Tone series can help jump-start the process.

How it fits your care at AgeWell

Pelvic floor changes rarely happen in isolation. The hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause affect vaginal and bladder tissue too, so your provider looks at the whole picture. For more significant incontinence, V-Tone is often paired with MorpheusV, which is designed to support the tissue around the bladder and urethra.
